Last week, Paige took to social media to caution against individuals seeking autographs at airports, specifically those she termed "airport scalpers."
Airport scalpers are morphing.. Had someone waiting for me as I was getting off the plane at the gate of my connecting flight with like 30 pictures.. I’m easy going with this stuff but pulling up to my gate is f—ing weirdo behavior. Don’t do that.
Over the weekend, Paige elaborated on the incident in an interview, providing more details about the unsettling encounter.
She explained that it's common for public figures, including athletes and celebrities, to find individuals waiting at airports with numerous items ready for signatures, often intending to resell them. While she generally remains "pretty chill" about signing autographs, this particular situation crossed a line.
"This guy bought a ticket to go through to meet me at my connecting gate," she recounted. "So, he knew my flight, he knew where I was connecting through and he knew what time I was landing which is so f---ing weird."
An Unsettling Airport Encounter
Paige described the scene: the individual was waiting for her as she disembarked, holding around 30 photographs. "I'm like bro this is really strange," she recalled telling him, to which he reportedly responded, "I know it's weird." Paige's reaction was firm: "get the f--- away."
She speculated that the breach of privacy might not be the airline's fault directly, but rather an employee of the airline or airport who might be sharing travel details with these individuals. She stressed that there are appropriate channels for fan interaction, such as official meet-and-greets and appearances at arenas.
We have meet and greets. We tell you where we're going to be at the arenas. That's different, too. Come to the arena. Come to, you know, a meet and greet, but like don't turn up at my hotel. Don't turn up at my connecting day. And don’t even turn up at the airports because a lot of wrestlers hate that.
